Ready!   The calf is in the chute.  The horse is chomping at the bit.  The cowboy nods his head to tell the men to open the chute door.

Get set!   The boy starts twirling the rope.  The horse starts charging.  The man behind the calf gives it a push out of the open chute.

Go!   The calf is connected to a rope that is tied to the chute door.  There is a cord in front of the horse and rider.  If the horse goes through that cord before the calf comes to the end of its rope, then the the rider is disqualified.

The horses like to start fast.

Gone!   By the time that the calf breaks its rope, the horse is going very fast.
