The elk don't seem to mind the magpie.

This magpie is scrounging for food while the bull elk snooze.

 

With huge feet, the horses could be dangerous to this brave magpie.. The magpie seems to be admiring the view from the top of the corral.

Magpies are very bold birds.  They are scavengers and they eat just about everything, including meat.  This magpie hangs out around the corral to look for food.
