Yum!

Pears grow very well here.  There are not as many pear orchards here as there are peach and apple orchards.

There are only a few pear trees at the Red Bluff Ranch.  We eat them right off the tree and we use them to make jam and jelly.  This year we made apple jelly mixed with pears.  We also made a special pear jam mixed with lemons, oranges, pineapple and spices.

If you don't pick them when they are ripe, then the wasps will eat the pears right off the tree.
