This orphaned coyote pup came to the wildlife rehab center when he was 2 months old.
The ancient Aztecs in Mexico called this animal "coyotl". The Spanish explorers changed that name to "coyote".
Coyotes can leap up to about 12 feet.
Coyotes have great hearing. They can hear a mouse burrowing under about a foot of snow.
He was fully grown and very healthy when he left the rehab center.
Coyotes actually help farmers by eating rodents that feed on farmers' crops. They usually eat meat, but sometimes they eat plants, berries, nuts, fruits and insects. When they don't have enough food they sometimes try to eat farm animals like chickens.
Coyote mothers usually have between 4 and 7 pups in a litter.
The newborn pups don't meet their father until they are about 2 months old. Then he helps them learn how to hunt for food.
